Is Boldbobbin really free?
Yes! We're in open beta and every feature is completely free. No credit card required. Just sign up and start designing.
What file formats can I export?
Boldbobbin exports to standard embroidery formats including .PES, .DST, .JEF, .EXP, .VP3, .XXX, and .U01. Compatible with most home and commercial embroidery machines.
Do I need to install anything?
Not if you don't want to. Boldbobbin runs in any modern browser. You can also download the desktop app for Windows or Mac if you prefer working offline.
What happens after the beta?
We plan to introduce paid plans after the beta, with a model designed to stay accessible, whether you're a hobbyist or a professional. Beta users will be the first to know about pricing and any early offers. All your projects and exported files are always yours to keep.
Can I use my own thread colors?
Absolutely. You can set up your thread palette so designs automatically match the colors you actually have on hand.
